Fudena

Hi, my name is Ruth Nakaar and I’m the founder of Fudena. Growing up as a first-generation Ghanaian American, the food and culture of my parents’ native country Ghana played an integral role in my upbringing. After college, I moved to Washington D.C. There were so many nights when I would get off work and just long for the familiar meals from my childhood. While there were a few West African restaurants in the area, I became frustrated that I had to go to a full-service, sit-down restaurant whenever I was hit with that craving. I wondered why I couldn’t just grab a quick meal that reminded me of home. And so, Fudena was born!
